Psalm 22 A Cry of Anguish
My God, my God why have you forsaken me
Why so far away in my time of need?
I cry by day but Your ears are closed
By night but Your lips are sealed
You brought me forth
From my mother's womb
Led me to trust
Before I was weaned
At my mother's breast
Thrust in Your arms
on the day of my birth
You are my God
the source of my strength
ever since the day I was born
But You Oh Lord be not far from me
Oh My Strength hasten to my help
Deliver my life from the power of the dog
My soul from the lion's mouth
I've been surrounded, by bulls encircled
They foam with raging mouths
Do not forsake me in my distress
No one but You can help
Poured out like water
heart melts like wax
My strength has dried up
All my bones are broken
Put out of joint
With nails they pierced
My hands and feet
I feel their gaze
As they gloat over me
And throw dice for my clothes
But You Oh Lord be not far from me
Oh My Strength hasten to my help
Deliver my life from the power of the dog
My soul from the lion's mouth
But You Oh Lord are enthroned on high
In the praises of Your people Israel
God of our fathers in ages past
Our hope in these troubled times
in these troubled times
in these troubled times
