17 years of physical & mental abuse by both so called parents was the origin of this song's existence...
This song was written for all the children throughout the world who do not have a voice, because they are too terrified to speak out for fear of further abuse....Silence is not the answer & is certainly not the cure.
Staring at the moon, I remember as a child
A distant glance of innocence, where dreams were running wild
Caught up in a world, of escaping fantasies
Waiting for the moment, where one would set me free.
Gazing at the stars, I recall malignant years
Of crippled isolation, paralyzed by primal fear
Caught up in a world, of a bruised & battered soul
Praying that serenity, would soon one day unfold.
The unfolding years are slowly slipping in
This hidden atmosphere I keep locked away within
The only thing I need is to get myself free
From these images, that keep haunting me.
Clinging to the years, that were torn out of my hands
Through pure exasperation, I still fight to understand
Caught up in a world, of black clouds pouring rain
Searching for a paradise,… A place where there’s no pain.
The distant sound of thunder is slowly creeping in
With ripples of deception from unspeakable sin
The echoes of bone crushing screams
Have kept me locked in this cage
Of lost innocence,… & silent rage.
Staring at the moon, I remember as a child
A distant glance of innocence.
